CIRCA 1961 SHEAFFER IMPERIAL VI FOUNTAIN PEN TOUCHDOWN FILLER 14K NIB RESTORED

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this beautiful Circa 1961 Sheaffer Imperial VI Touchdown Filler Fountain Pen with Two-Tone Cap, Black Barrel, and 14K Fine Inlaid nib. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, and put back together and now is in wonderful operating and writing condition.

I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, and section. Replaced the old ink sac with a new, properly sized sac and barrel o-ring. Hand polished the Gold Filled Clip, Cap Banding, Stainless Cap, Blind Cap, Barrel, and 14K NIB. This fountain pen cap and barrel are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. I have cleaned, buffed, and polished the cap, barrel, and blind cap to bring back the shine of the material on the fountain pen. The cap displays the White Dot with a Gold Filled Clip with it being stamped on the cap lip, "SHEAFFER'S MADE IN U.S.A.". This Sheaffer Imperial VI Touchdown Filler Fountain Pen measures 5 1/2" in length capped and 5 3/4" posted. Neither the cap nor barrel displays any monograms or personalizations.

This Sheaffer has a working Touchdown Filling system. I replaced the old rubber sac with a new rubber sac and changed out the old barrel o-ring with a new, properly sized authentic reproduction o-ring. I have restored, greased, and tested the Touchdown Filling mechanism with water and now works as it was intended to.

The Sheaffer 14K Inlaid Nib has a fine point measuring roughly .52mm when measuring with digital calipers. In the writing sample provided, the NIB writes with an extra-fine line that measures roughly .38mm to a medium .74mm when measuring with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-black Ink.

This Sheaffer Imperial VI Fountain Pen is a "poor person's" PFM IV. The look of the pen really captivates the PFM IV but at a lower price point. Collectors love the Inlaid nibs and these pens and they are steady workhorses for writing long periods due to being light in the hand.
