For your consideration, I am pleased to offer for sale this circa 2010 Waterman Charleston fountain pen in classic Black resin with rhodium-plated trim, fitted with an 18K gold nib. This example is Brand New, New Old Stock, Mint, and Never Inked—exactly as it left the factory.

The Charleston draws its inspiration from Waterman’s iconic Hundred Year Pen of 1939, capturing the essence of Art Deco design in a form that feels both timeless and contemporary. Strong architectural lines, refined proportions, and subtle detailing define this model. The Charleston was first introduced in 2001 and went out of production in 2016. These examples will date to pre-2010.

The fluted barrel is accented by a decorative center band, complemented by a large threaded cap and Waterman’s signature flowing wrap-around clip. In deep, polished black resin paired with bright rhodium-plated trim, the presentation is crisp and sophisticated—restrained yet undeniably elegant in hand. The barrel band is cleanly stamped “WATERMAN – FRANCE,” and all trim remains pristine, retaining a bright, mirror-like luster with no wear.

This pen measures approximately 5 1/4 inches capped, 5 7/8 inches posted, and weighs 0.88 ounces—substantial enough to feel confident in hand while remaining perfectly balanced for extended writing.

The pen accepts Waterman cartridges or a converter filling system. Included is a never-inked Waterman converter (1.04 ml capacity) along with one Waterman ink cartridge. Everything remains unused.

The 18K solid gold nib features rhodium masking and displays no wear whatsoever. The nib face is beautifully stamped with an Art Deco motif, the Waterman “W” logo, “Paris,” and “18K/750.” The nib size "M" designation appears on the feed. The Medium nib point measures 0.88mm when measured with digital calipers.

This pen comes complete with its original Waterman box, converter, cartridge, and Waterman literature.

The Charleston series was created to reconcile contemporary taste with the bold artistic confidence of the Art Deco era—and it succeeds beautifully. This model does not simply echo the past; it refines it.

In Mint, New Old Stock, never-inked condition and fully complete, this Waterman Charleston represents a wonderful opportunity for the collector seeking a pristine modern classic—or for the writer who appreciates Art Deco elegance paired with dependable 18K performance.
