2003 PARKER 100 DIAMOND BLUE W/GOLD TRIM 18K FINE NIB FOUNTAIN PEN

For your consideration, we are pleased to offer for sale this early-production Parker 100 “Diamond Blue” Fountain Pen with gold trim, produced in 2003 and fitted with an 18K solid gold nib. This example predates the Parker 100’s official catalog debut in 2004, making it a desirable pre–first-year piece for the Parker collector.

The pen is finished in the striking Diamond Blue finish, accented by rich 14K gold-plated trim. Both barrel and cap are exceptionally well preserved, showing no nicks, chips, cracks, dings, dents, finish loss, or repairs. All trim remains bright and lustrous, with no evidence of wear. The cap lip is crisply stamped PARKER, the Parker logo, date code “L” (Q4 2003), and France, confirming its early production.

This Parker 100 measures 5 5/8 inches capped and 5 7/8 inches posted, offering excellent balance and a substantial yet elegant feel in hand.

The 18K solid gold nib, marked “F” on the section when the barrel is removed, is in outstanding condition. When measured with digital calipers, the iridium tipping averages approximately .66 mm, writing more like a smooth, generous medium line, ranging from .64 mm to .67 mm when measuring with digital calipers. The nib performs beautifully with an ultra-smooth, consistent flow. For transparency, the pen was lightly inked once—using Faber-Castell Cobalt Blue ink—solely to produce the writing sample shown in the images. The actual pen offered here was used for that sample.

This fountain pen fills via a Parker-branded ink converter, which is included, and it will also accept Parker ink cartridges. The pen is accompanied by its original Parker presentation box, Parker literature, and two ink cartridges. The box remains in excellent condition, with no ink stains or damage.

The Parker 100 is widely regarded as a modern descendant of the legendary Parker “51.” Designed by Geoff Hollington—also known for his work on the Parker Insignia and Sonnet—the model borrows the iconic streamlined silhouette of the ’51 while introducing contemporary refinements and materials. The Diamond Blue finish was discontinued in 2006, and the Parker 100 line itself was retired in late 2007, further enhancing its appeal among collectors.

Produced only from 2003 to 2006, the Diamond Blue Parker 100 has become an increasingly sought-after variant. As an early, pre–first-year example in Near Mint to Mint condition, this pen represents both a superb writing instrument and a highly collectible addition to any Parker or modern-classic fountain pen collection.
