Replaced the old sac with a new sac. Hand polished the clip and cap banding. I have cleaned, buffed, and polished the barrel, cap, and blind to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen and to protect the celluloid. This Mentmore Diploma Fountain Pen measures 5 1\/8\" inches capped and 6 1\/4\" posted.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe fountain pen cap and barrel are in exceptional condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. This Lizard skin pattern celluloid is awesome in the grey color. The chrome plated clip and cap banding has been polished to displays brightly but there is some wear as seen in the photos. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis Mentmore Diploma Fountain Pen has is a button filler type and has been restored to work as originally intended. A well working filling system that I have tested with water and performs as it should.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Mentmore has a juicy, wet writing 14ct Broad Nib. The actual writing portion (iridium) of the nib has a broad point measuring roughly 1.07mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a Medium to Double Broad stroke line variation under different hand pressure. In the writing sample provided, the medium line measures at .73mm and the broad measures 1.71mm when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Montblanc Blue Ink.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis vintage Mentmore Diploma Fountain Pen is a great example of the Lizard skin pattern. The trim shows some wear but overall it is a great writing pen that I would grade in Fine to Very Fine Condition. Anytime you can find Lizard skin celluloid on a fountain pen it is a rare treat.
