This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, and section. Hand cleaned the inside of the barrel and cap with mineral oil. Cleaned and polished the outside of the cap and barrel. Hand polished the Nickel Plated Waterman Clip and Lever Assembly along with the Waterman 14K #4 NIB. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThis fountain pen is made of black hard rubber with excellent chasing. This model was in production from 1915 to circa 1917. The cap is a screw-on type and secures tightly to the barrel. The Nickel trim has all been polished to shine brightly. The hard rubber displays some oxidation and the chasing is fairly clean and in excellent condition. The barrel is stamped, \"PAT'D 1884 MAY 23, 1899 WATERMAN'S IDEAL GLOBE LOGO FOUNTAIN PEN N.Y. U.S.A. \u0026amp; AUG., 4, 1903\". The butt end of the fountain pen has imprint model number \"14 P.S.F.\". There are no monograms or personalization to either the cap or barrel. There are no cracks or repairs to the hard rubber. This Waterman #14 PSF measures 5 5\/16\" in length capped and 6 9\/16\" posted.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e The lever and box assembly has been cleaned and oiled. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills wonderfully. The Globe and Ideal imprint on the lever displays no wear and is clean and crisp. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e This Waterman has a fantastic #4 WATERMAN 14K Nib that writes very smoothly. The iridium tipping is in excellent condition with the point measuring .79mm when measured with digital calipers - a medium nib point. When writing the sample in the listing images, the NIB writes with a fine to triple broad line measuring roughly .53mm with light pressure to 1.81mm with medium to firm pressure when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample provided was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e These P.S.F. Waterman Fountain Pens are extremely difficult to find since they were produced from 1915 to 1917. I would consider the condition of this fountain pen to easily grade in Excellent condition.
