This Legacy writing instrument is a Sheaffer Legacy 1 Ballpoint Pen and the model number 840-2. Production started in 1995 and lasted until 1999 for this model. The Black Laque cap is accented with 23K gold electroplated trim and the spring-loaded clip which is stamped, \"SHEAFFER USA\" on the sides of the clip.
