Hand cleaned the section, cap, and barrel. Replaced the old cork with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled trim and 14K\/585 NIB. I have Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel and cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of fountain pen. This Pelikan 400NN has some fabulous color and the design looks fantastic. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition showing no chips, cracks, or repairs with the cap always secure tightly to the barrel. The cap has the Gold Filled Clip that displays no wear. The Gold Filled Cap Banding displays no brassing and reads, PELIKAN 400 GERMANY\". The top of the cap displays the Pelikan logo. The transparent green visualated lower barrel is clear with the transparency being water clear - a person can easily see through the barrel. This Pelikan 400NN size measures 5 1\/4\" in length capped and 5 7\/8\" posted. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis Pelikan has a piston filling system. The piston filler has been disassembled, cleaned, and greased to work as it was originally intended to. The piston filler works flawless and operates smoothly. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe Pelikan NIB is a 585\/14K NIB. The Pelikan NIB has a broad point measuring roughly .89mm when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample provided in the image ranges from a broad stroke that measures .82mm to a double broad stroke of roughly 1.93mm with normal to medium pressure when I measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAny specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThese Pelikan's fountain pens from this era have a gorgeous design with such a fabulous, responsive nib.
