This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together, and now is in wonderful writing condition. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eI have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, collector, breather tube, and hood. Replaced the old sac with a new, properly sized Pli-Glass Sac. I have hand-cleaned the cap, arrow clip, clutch ring, and 14K Parker nib. I also cleaned, buffed, and polished the barrel and hood to bring back the vibrancy of the fountain pen and to protect the plastic. This Parker 51 is Fullsize and measures 5 3\/8\" capped and 5 7\/8\" posted. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis fountain pen cap, barrel, and hood are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The cap displays the groups of 5 converging lines pattern repeating around the cap and has the Gold Filled Feather Arrow Clip. The cap is a 1\/10 12K Gold Filled type with no denting, dings, or wear to the gold-filled material. The cap is clearly stamped with, \"PARKER\" near the cap lip, and the opposite side is \"MADE IN U.S.A. 1\/10 12K GOLD FILLED\". The barrel is stamped with, \"Made in U.S.A. with date code 8 (for 1948) in the 3rd quarter\". \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eI have restored the Aerometric filling system with a new sac and cleaned all the internal parts. I have tested the Aerometric filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The filling system, typically in my tests with water, will fill full in roughly 3 to 5 presses. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe Parker NIB is dated 1948 and is made of 14K Gold. The actual 14K Parker NIB has a fine\/medium point measuring roughly .59mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a fine to medium stroke\/line. In the writing sample provided, the fine line measures at .57mm and the medium stroke measures at .63mm when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Montblanc Blue Ink. The nib on this Parker 51 is a very smooth writer.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis is a wonderfully restored vintage Parker 51 Aerometric Fountain Pen that has been completely restored to write like new again. I would consider this Parker to be in Excellent to Near Mint Condition.
