This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together, and is now in wonderful writing condition. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eI have replaced the old sac with a new, properly sized-one. I hand-polished the Gold Filled Cap, Clip, Clutch Ring, and 14K Parker NIB. This Parker VS measures 5 1\/2\" capped and 5 7\/8\" posted. The Pencil measures 5 1\/8\" inches.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe fountain pen cap, barrel, and blind cap are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The Gold Filled Cap displays the word \"Parker\" on the clip and \"1\/8 14K Gold Filled Made In U.S.A.\" on the cap lip. The cap has normal overall use with light surface scratching - less than normal for the age of the pen. The Cap has a pearlized jewel at the top that has been polished to a high shine. The barrel is stamped on two lines, \"PARKER VS MADE IN U.S.A. with date code 7 (for 1947) in the 2nd quarter\". The feed is a clear Lucite type that was found on the earlier models. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis Parker VS has the Aluminum Button Filling System. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should with the new sac that was installed.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe Parker NIB is 14K and has a fine point measuring roughly .54mm when measured with digital calipers. In the writing sample provided, this nib will range from a fine to medium line variation between .53mm up to a medium .66mm line when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis vintage Parker VS Fountain Pen was only made for 2 years. The VS stood for Vacumatic Successor.
